August Retail Sales Rebound 0.5%, Beating Forecasts

British shop sales rose 0.5% in August, the Office for National Statistics reported, reversing July's 0.5% drop. Analysts had forecast a 0.2% fall. Over the three months to August, sales were up 2.4% from a year earlier. The question now is whether shoppers keep spending as autumn arrives.
