British Shops Sold More in August

Stores across Britain sold 0.5% more goods in August, the Office for National Statistics said, bouncing back from a 0.5% dip in July. Experts had predicted a 0.2% drop. Compared with the same three-month stretch last year, sales were up 2.4%. It is unclear if that shopping pace will continue into autumn.
