Tunis Floods Trap Drivers, Expose Drainage Limits

Heavy rain on September 17 paralyzed parts of Tunis, flooding roads and homes and trapping drivers in their cars. Power and internet service cut out, and the tunnel to Bab Saadoun closed. Forecasters had warned heavy downpours could overwhelm drains. With 29 flood-protection projects still unfinished, the next storm will test progress.
