Opportunity Party would price farm methane

The Opportunity Party, led by Qiulae Wong, would put a price on biogenic methane — methane from livestock — ahead of the 2026 election, RNZ reported. The party says it would look at a cap-and-trade system, where emissions are capped and permits traded, or a levy. Its climate spokesperson is Kayla Kingdon-Bebb.
