Opportunity Party proposes methane price for agriculture

The Opportunity Party, led by Qiulae Wong, has proposed pricing biogenic methane from agriculture ahead of New Zealand's 2026 general election, according to RNZ. The party says it would explore a cap-and-trade market or levy. Its climate spokesperson is Kayla Kingdon-Bebb.
