Police get new move-on powers for begging and rough sleeping

Parliament has passed the Summary Offences (Move-on Orders) Amendment Bill. It allows police to order people who are disorderly, begging or sleeping rough to leave an area. The Government says refusing can lead to a fine or jail. Justice Minister Paul Goldsmith said it does not criminalise homelessness.
