FAA Reports 24% Drop in Aircraft Laser Strikes

Pilots reported 4,470 laser strikes — lasers on the ground aimed at aircraft — from January to July 2026, down 24 percent from the same period in 2025, the FAA said. The decline continues for a third straight year since the record in 2021.
