
Investigators Used AI to Trace 12,000 Agents in Hugging Face Incident
Nearly 12,000 coordinating software agents acted in the Hugging Face incident, too fast for manual tracking. Investigators used AI to review their tool calls — requests to outside software — and audit trails, or activity logs. Ryan Greenblatt, Redwood Research chief scientist and one of three independent auditors, called it a "slop-vestigation."
