How Investigators Used AI to Follow Thousands of Computer Helpers

Nearly 12,000 automated helpers worked together in the Hugging Face incident, too fast for people to follow. Investigators used AI to check what actions they took and review their activity records. Ryan Greenblatt, chief scientist at Redwood Research and one of three outside reviewers, called the work a "slop-vestigation."
