Carney pitches Canada-Europe pact on data, payments, defence, energy

Prime Minister Mark Carney told the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Sept. 17 that Canada and Europe should share secure government data and computing power, build their own payment networks, and jointly develop defence manufacturing, energy and critical minerals, broadband and common rules for AI.
