Israel Approves E1 Settlement Plan East of Jerusalem

Israel approved the E1 settlement project in August for land east of Jerusalem in the occupied West Bank. The plan would build on a strategic corridor, effectively cutting the West Bank in two. That would further divide land intended for a future Palestinian state. Approval alone does not mean building has started.
