Israel Approved a Housing Plan That Could Divide Palestinian Land

Israel approved a plan in August to build houses for Israelis on key land east of Jerusalem, in the West Bank, territory under Israeli control. If built, the new area would cut the West Bank in two, like a wall across the middle, leaving less connected land for a hoped-for Palestinian state. Approval alone does not mean building has started.
