AI alliance says flexible power use could add 100 GW of data centers

Google, Nvidia, Anthropic and Emerald AI launched the AI Energy Management Alliance on Sept. 16 with utilities AES, Constellation, National Grid and NRG Energy. The group says flexible-load software, which pauses nonurgent jobs and moves demand to grids with spare capacity, could connect an extra 100 GW of data centers.
