Tech firms and power companies team up to plug in more data centers

Google, Nvidia, Anthropic and Emerald AI started a power group with power companies AES, Constellation, National Grid and NRG Energy on Sept. 16. The AI Energy Management Alliance says software that pauses less urgent computer work and moves it where power is available could plug in 100 GW more of data centers, large buildings full of computers.
