N.L. begins four-day debate on 50-year Hydro-Québec deal

Premier Tony Wakeham opened four days of debate in the Newfoundland and Labrador legislature on a resolution — a formal show of support — for a 50-year framework with Hydro-Québec to share Labrador hydro power. Members will vote on the draft. If it passes, negotiators hope to finish final deals by year-end.
