English Heritage Pilots Volunteer Scything at Muchelney Abbey

English Heritage has trained its first volunteers to cut grass by hand with scythes at Muchelney Abbey in Somerset. Trainers from Exmoor National Park Authority taught cutting and tool upkeep. Muchelney is the pilot, with the team expected to help at other sites. Its meadow is one of 100 promised for King Charles's 2023 coronation.
