Labour votes with National and ACT on India trade bill

National, ACT and Labour voted for the India Free Trade Agreement law change. New Zealand First, the Greens and Te Pāti Māori voted against. Parliament in Wellington finalised the law, which enables the India free trade deal, in the week to 17 September 2026. Trade Minister Todd McClay spoke for it at the third reading, the final vote.
