Tribunal finds curriculum rewrite broke Treaty duties

The Waitangi Tribunal says the Government's school curriculum rewrite was ideological and broke Treaty principles, presiding officer Rachel Mullins said. That is the duty to work with Māori and protect Māori interests. It found little real consultation and no proof the facts-focused plan will close gaps for Māori.
