Tribunal finds curriculum rewrite ideological, in breach of Treaty principles

The Waitangi Tribunal has found the Government's school curriculum rewrite was ideological and breached Treaty principles of partnership and active protection, according to presiding officer Rachel Mullins. It cited lack of meaningful engagement with Māori and no evidence the knowledge-rich approach will reduce inequities for Māori.
