Labour joins Government to pass India FTA law

Parliament passed the law to put the New Zealand-India free trade agreement (FTA) into effect on 16 September 2026, RNZ reported. Labour voted for the bill with the Government. New Zealand First voted against, with the Greens, Te Pāti Māori and two independents. Both countries must formally approve it before it starts.
