Obama Center Opens to Public on Juneteenth

The Obama Presidential Center opened to visitors June 19, 2026, the day after its official dedication ceremony in Chicago. The Obama Foundation timed the opening deliberately to Juneteenth, the federal holiday marking the end of slavery. The privately funded facility on Chicago's South Side hosted dedication performances by Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Christina Aguilera and Bono.
