Obama Center Opens on Juneteenth

The Obama Presidential Center opened to the public June 19 in Chicago on Juneteenth, the holiday celebrating the end of slavery. The opening came the day after an official dedication ceremony. The Obama Foundation chose this date on purpose. The privately funded center on Chicago's South Side hosted performances by Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Christina Aguilera and Bono at the ceremony.
