
Google Lets Outside AI Agents Run Home Devices via MCP
Google opened early access on September 16, 2026, to a Google Home server using Model Context Protocol, a common standard for linking AI tools to outside systems. Compatible assistants — Claude, ChatGPT, Hermes, OpenClaw and Google Antigravity — can operate devices and check past activity. Setup needs a Google Cloud project, agent setup, and signed-in user permission.
