Ebola cases in North Kivu more than doubled in a week, from 100 to over 200. On 16 September, WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said ending Ebola in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo is 'far from over.' Transmission, or spread between people, fell in Ituri, and South Kivu has had no cases since May.
