England Teachers' Pay Rise to Be Fully Funded by Government

England's teachers will get a fully funded pay rise, Education Secretary Lucy Powell confirmed to the National Education Union (the main teaching union) on 16 September 2026. The offer is 3.5% from September 2026 and 3% from September 2027. The NEU called it a victory, saying schools had faced paying almost a third from existing budgets.
