UK Government Agrees to Fully Fund England Teachers' Pay Award

Education Secretary Lucy Powell confirmed in a letter to the National Education Union that England's teacher pay offer — 3.5% from September 2026 and 3% from September 2027 — will be fully funded, confirmation reported 16 September 2026. The NEU claimed victory after warning schools faced covering almost a third of the rise from existing budgets.
