Georgia Pauses Humphreys Execution for Survivor Justice Hearing

Stacey Humphreys, 53, will not be executed Wednesday at 7pm EDT near Jackson after a judge late Tuesday granted a stay (pause). Convicted of malice murder (intentional killing) in the 2003 killings of Cyndi Williams and Lori Brown, he will get a hearing under Georgia's new Survivor Justice law, which allows resentencing if crimes are tied to abuse he suffered.
