Roy Burnham dies without knowing son became prime minister

Prime Minister Andy Burnham's father, Roy Burnham, died on Monday, 14 September. The BBC said he had advanced Alzheimer's, a memory-loss illness, and did not know his son had become prime minister. Mr Burnham cancelled engagements and thanked opposition leaders and well-wishers for messages.
