Russia Sets First Parliamentary Election Since Ukraine Invasion for Sept. 18-20

Russia will hold parliamentary elections Sept. 18-20, its first since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. The three-day vote will choose the ninth State Duma — the lower house of parliament — replacing the eighth. I read the timing as revealing conditions at home for Moscow's next wartime phase, rather than deciding the war.
