U.S. Charges Five Alleged Russian Operatives in Murder Plot

Federal prosecutors on Sept. 15 charged five alleged Russian intelligence operatives, still at large, with conspiring to fund terrorism and arrange murder-for-hire in the U.S. The Manhattan indictment — the formal charge document — alleges planned targeted killings in the U.S. and in European countries backing Ukraine. The FBI says it stopped the plots.
