Poll Finds 61% of Likely Voters Oppose AI Data Centers

61% of 1,503 likely voters oppose building data centers to power AI, the large computing facilities behind AI models, with only 14% strongly in favor, a Sept. 8-13 New York Times/Siena poll found. Opposition hit 74% among 2024 Harris voters and 67% among nonvoters. 2024 Trump voters were divided, 49% in support to 45% opposed.
