Poll: Most Voters Oppose New Computer Buildings for AI

61% of 1,503 likely voters oppose building data centers, the warehouse-like buildings full of computers that run AI, with only 14% strongly in favor, a Sept. 8-13 New York Times/Siena poll found. Opposition was 74% among 2024 Harris voters and 67% among nonvoters. 2024 Trump voters split 49% support to 45% opposition.
