More than 1 million Britons quit paid jobs in the past two years to look after ageing, ill or disabled family members — about 1,500 a day — Carers UK research found. That exit rate has doubled in seven years. With 6.7 million workers still balancing jobs and care, more departures could shrink the available workforce.
