UK Would Require Meeting Before Rejecting Flexible Work Requests

UK employers could no longer reject flexible work requests out of hand. First Secretary Louise Haigh told the TUC conference in Brighton on 15 September 2026 they would have to meet the employee, weigh the request properly, and explain a refusal. All UK staff can already request flexible work, which bosses must consider reasonably.
