Wellington Hospital adds corridor beds by ED observation unit

Wellington Hospital has closed part of a corridor outside its emergency department observation unit — its short-stay monitoring area — for up to four beds, Health NZ says. They are for stable patients waiting for admission or discharge when full. A nurse monitors the area, closed for privacy. In use Tuesday.
