Kenney ties Calgary-Shaw loss to separation vote risk

Former Alberta premier Jason Kenney says the United Conservative Party's Sept. 14 loss in Calgary-Shaw shows the Oct. 19 separation referendum — a vote on leaving Canada — is turning off pro-Canada conservatives. He says it could help the NDP win the Oct. 18, 2027 provincial election and help the federal Liberals gain Alberta seats.
