L.A. Rules Out Death Penalty in Reiner Killings

Nick Reiner will not face the death penalty, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said Sept. 15, 2026. Reiner is accused of fatally stabbing his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, in their Los Angeles home in December 2025. Prosecutors said the harshest possible sentence now is life in prison without parole — no chance of release.
