Canada Seeks Closer EU Partnership Amid U.S. Trade War

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney visits Strasbourg and Liverpool Sept. 15-17 to seek a closer strategic alliance with the European Union amid Canada's trade war — an escalating tariff dispute — with the United States. He will meet European Parliament members on trade, investment and security. Carney says Canada does not seek EU membership, but a 'unique alliance.'
