Sanders, Casar Plan Bill to Ban Superintelligent AI, Pause Advanced Work

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, and Rep. Greg Casar plan to introduce a bill to ban artificial superintelligence — AI systems smarter than people across most tasks — and pause advanced AI development for a time, according to a Sept. 3 release from Sanders' Senate office.
