TUC votes to keep five-year settlement for workers already in UK

Delegates at the Trades Union Congress, the body bringing unions together, voted unanimously to keep the five-year route to settlement, or indefinite leave to remain. The BBC said the motion calls for planned changes for workers already in the UK to be dropped. Ministers, led by Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, have proposed a standard 10-year wait.
