TUC votes unanimously to retain five-year settlement route for workers in UK

Delegates at the Trades Union Congress voted unanimously for any settlement changes affecting workers already in the UK to be withdrawn. The BBC reported the motion said the five-year route to indefinite leave to remain should be retained. Ministers have proposed a 10-year standard wait under plans announced by Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood.
