European gas up 75% to €82.40

European spot gas — gas bought for immediate delivery — is up 75% since end-June, the Wall Street Journal reported Sept. 9. It traded at 82.40 euros per megawatt-hour on Sept. 15, up 33.42% in a month, per Trading Economics. I expect pressure on winter heating and power bills if tight conditions hold.
