Volvo XC60 and XC90 plug-in hybrids claim 78- and 73-mile electric ranges

Volvo has updated its XC60 and XC90 plug-in hybrids with preliminary EPA electric-only ranges of 78 and 73 miles. Both use a floor-mounted 41.2 kWh battery pack, with 37.9 kWh available to use, more than double the previous version. Volvo says that would be the longest plug-in hybrid range in the US if confirmed.
