Kennedy Center Board to Vote on Closing Building as Unsafe

The Kennedy Center board will vote Sept. 15 on closing its main building right away, calling it 'unsafe for continued occupancy,' according to a board resolution. The administration said part of the grand foyer, the main lobby, ceiling fell Sept. 5 after rain damage. Rep. Joyce Beatty said outside experts hired by the board never called it unsafe.
