Kennedy Center Leaders to Vote on Closing Main Building for Safety

The Kennedy Center board will vote Sept. 15 on closing its main building now, saying it is unsafe to stay open, according to a board plan. The administration said part of the large front-hall ceiling fell Sept. 5 after rain damage. Rep. Joyce Beatty said outside safety reviewers hired by the board never said it was unsafe.
