Kennedy Center board to vote on immediate closure over safety

The Kennedy Center board will vote Sept. 15 on immediately closing its main building as 'unsafe for continued occupancy,' according to a board resolution. The administration said part of the grand foyer ceiling collapsed Sept. 5 from rain damage. Rep. Joyce Beatty said consultants brought in by the board never said it was unsafe.
