Hundreds of fake HBO Max ads ran on Reddit after attackers took over the company's official advertising account, Hudson Rock researchers found. The ads linked to a copycat HBO Max page designed to fool viewers. Reddit confirmed the takeover to TechCrunch. The campaign was reported September 14, 2026.
