Scammers used HBO Max name for fake Reddit ads

Scammers broke into HBO Max's official Reddit advertising account and posted hundreds of fake ads, researchers at Hudson Rock found. The ads looked real but sent people to a copycat HBO Max website. Reddit confirmed the break-in to TechCrunch. It was reported September 14, 2026.
