Microsoft AI Says Advanced Models Get No Rights

Microsoft AI chief Mustafa Suleyman said Sept. 14 that “People matter more than AI.” His draft code for training MAI’s most advanced (frontier) models says AI should not pretend to be conscious, and should have no rights, welfare protections, or legal status. AI must stay under people’s control and serve them.
