Microsoft AI rejects rights and welfare for AI models

Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman said September 14 that "People matter more than AI" in a provisional code for training MAI frontier models. The code says models should not imitate consciousness or be entitled to rights, and rejects model welfare and legal personhood. AI must remain subordinate and in service of people.
